I recently had the good fortune to receive outstanding services offered through your center's short-term rehabilitation program. I attribute my short recovery period to the competent therapists and nurses who worked with me to ensure daily progress. Thanks to the wonderful Lakeland staff, I am back to my active lifestyle.
Short-term Rehabilitation
Lakeland Health Care Center’s physical rehabilitation program reflects the lifestyle desired by seniors, promotes independence and encourages a rapid return to home after rehabilitation from the broad range of surgical procedures, including hip and knee replacement and amputation, as well as stroke, and other injuries and illness.
Our staff members carefully consider the age and frailty of patients and develop individualized programs that allow patients work at their own pace, enabling them to reach their full physical potential.
The interdisciplinary physical rehabilitation team includes a physiatrist (physician who specializes in physical medicine and rehabilitation), as well as physical, occupational and speech therapists, recreation therapists, a dietitian, and social workers. Staff members also fit prosthetic devices and train patients in the use of adaptive equipment.
Patients in the short-term program are encouraged to take advantage of all the amenities of the facility including movies, recreational and entertainment programs, garden, beauty/barber salon and more.
