The warm, caring attitude of the staff and residents at Lakeland is what makes the health care center so special. It is a true family atmosphere. I made so many dear friends in the two months that I was there for rehab, that I love to go back to visit. Even though I'm now in good health, I am still welcomed as part of the "family."
Respite Care
Through its Respite Care program, Lakeland Health Care Center provides temporary skilled nursing home care for the frail elderly, while providing needed respite for their caregivers. During their stay, guests reside in a warm and comfortable environment and have all their medical needs attended to by Lakeland’s well-trained staff, through individually-developed care plans which may include physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy and other needed care services. Individuals who participate in the Respite Care program may choose to eat in the dining room with other residents or in their own rooms, and are encouraged to participate in all Lakeland social and recreational activities, such as music programs, crafts, exercise, movies, outings and much more. A social worker is available to help the guest adjust to new surroundings.
